.460 load testing

I've got a 500 a-square (50-460), and that thing makes my 378 seem downright pleasant to shoot. Actually, I find the 378 quite tolerable to shoot off a bench while doing load workups and such. But the five-honey - wow! It gives you that 'i've-just-been-in-a-car-crash' adrenaline surge, the fight or flight response that has you all tensed up and shaking for a while.

I find I can snap off 3 or 4 shots in a row, then I need a cool down period because I'm far to jittery to shoot ANYTHING for a few minutes afterward.

There is a 375WBY.Its a improved 375 h h with the double radius shoulder ala WBY design.Great little cartridge.I had 2 rifles chambered in it some time ago.

Oh, I know. I own one. Just didn't think his description of the recoil would have referred to the 375Wby. It doesn't kick much more than the H&H version.

So, still own it eh? Now I remember why I decided to sell it ;)
Any chance of a video of you firing some rounds? Never seen the effect of 120 ft/lbs of recoil :p

How hard is it to get bullets like the 570gr TSX for that thing?
The only reason I haven't done it yet is because of component availability concerns.

A 500A-2 is a whole new world of whop-ass over the 460. :D

The 460 is pretty neat too there MTM!

Yep, still have it. The least practical gun in my collection, but SO MUCH FUN! No videos - I think... I'll have to check my photo album to see if I took any.

Tradex carries bullets for it - Woodleigh's, I think, and it uses 'cheap' (according to exotic game rifle standards) 460 weatherby brass at about 6 bux a case

How heavy is this gun? Is it on a MKV or CZ/BRNO? Do you have a good not max load for it you can share.
