4th Annual FRPC Multigun "NOMAD 2012"

Holy guacamole batman. Im going to need more slugs....and a second job to pay for the ammo.

Out of curiousity how far are we typically shooting slugs at? I havent done much slug shooting so ill have to practice before the match.

Ill also need a flashlight apparently.

I say you do what the rest of us have done at the FRPC multiguns. Totally f$%k up the first time. You learn a lot that way. Nobody help him!!!! Laugh2

Pm me. If you can't find any kit to use or don't want to buy a vest or whatever you can use my extra one if you want. It's a little on the large side, but can be made to fit.

Only thing you would need would be a place to carry shotgun ammo. But it has been done from pants povkets

Thanks for the offer! I just might take you up on that, depending how fast I can get fixed up. I've got no qualms about buying what I need, I just need to know what it is and get some advice on a good setup. The only thing worse than buying stuff is having to buy it twice! I'm sure the local ya-hoos can give me some advice and help spend my money...

See you Thursday, what flavour AR did you get?

I got a very sweet (IMHO) Norc with some nice trimmings. I haven't had time to shoot it yet, but it looks great. LOL:D

You won't be disappointed! The Norc ARs are awesome for reliability and accuracy right out of the box. Can't say that for some of the other brands of ARs out there. Anyone who doesn't like the Norc AR is either looking for a nicer finish or won't buy Chinese.

There is lots of different configurations out there on any kind of budget. It's here if you need it. Just let me know before the match so I can bring it for you.

Ohhhhhh! Very interesting! I have a nice Side Armor hip holster that is for my G21 with a TLR-2 on it. Can I use the laser as well?

If you take the laser what are the cats going to play with?

I have a 10.5 Norc, it goes bang and hits the target where I was pointing give or take. I think they can't be beat for a starter AR.

Don't forget a shotgun! It's really a four gun unless you use your carbine for the "precision' portion as well.

The mags are up to you but I'd say four - five AR mags, shell carriers for the shotgun would be nice, regular IDPA pistol mag amount. After seeing the stages you can gear up accordingly. lol

Most shooters bring enough mags for 25-30 rounds in the carbine. So in your case 5 mags will do. 3 for your pistol.

As to how you carry your mags and shells that's up to you. Chest rig, drop leg, on your belt or in your pockets... They should be easily accessable.

You will need a shotgun.

Other than that you'll need eye and ear protection.

Our 4th annual multigun match is set for August the 18th. Please let me know as soon as you can if you intend to shoot it, the majority of the spots were taken up at the IDPA match in June. As with our other matches non-FRPC members must pay in advance.

Registration starts at 8:00, match brief 8:30, shotgun start at 9am.

Cost of the match is $40, the match will be run using IDPA rules and scoring and is open to any "holster qualified" shooter. It will be a “run what you brung” match so if it is legal and approved by all means bring it ( LAR-15 mags...)

The match will be 8 stages, round count is yet to be finalized. Combination of pistol, carbine (.223 or 7.62X39 or smaller, Pistol Calibre Carbines are allowed) bird shot (7 or 8), slugs and rifle (you can use your carbine for this stage if you wish).

Lunch and drinks will be provided.

Any idea yet as to the size of the 300m target? I'm hoping for really big. :D

Huh... I'll have to shoot out to 300m? Hmmmm... some of you guys might want to bring snacks to eat while I am trying to hit that target. Is there a mercy rule? What happens if I run out of ammo and still haven't hit it...

You'll be fine, if you just need to remember one important thing. Just because they are quick detach scope mounts that does not mean you should swap them every time you change mags.

Spring and detent are in my range bag, need to find my wrench...

A reply to a pm, yes you can use your drop leg holster. How else would you be able to carry your pistol with a light on it? ;) hint, hint.

Damnit !!! I just sold my Bladetech for a G17/X300 cuz I switched to an X400, and nobody other than Raven makes one for the X400 yet. No way in hell am I gonna get one of those in time with their backlog. Might just have to run that stage with the carbine.
