4th gen Glock 17?

Did a quick search and came up with this, not a full picture but some for sure changes have been made to the grip and slide.

This is all news to me as I had no idea glock was making something new.

Looks like what?

Honestly you think the gen 4 is a bad design or looks like crap, I think you need to take look at your Beretta with the messed up safety and the goofy open barrel, may be the worst design ever, the gen 4 gets your hand higher and keeps your mitt stuck to the grip, bye bye skateboard tape, and the fish gills give the slide not only a cool look, but better functionality. I love the changes.

Gen 4 17 will be my next glock to coddle.....:adult:

How exactly do the new serrations give it better functionality?

<<<<<<, the serrations are an added safety feature. they remind you which end the bullets come out of.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! If you pickup the gun and need a reminder from the slide to tell you which end the bullets come out of, you shouldn't be picking it up in the first place. :runaway:

Hmmmm, never owned a Glock. Might just be able to warm up to one now, I like "skateboard" type grips. I have a 1911 type with skateboard tape and wouldn't be without it.

Tried the new 'improved' G22 grip....
It blows.....If you don't like the original, then skate tape is still going to work better.
As well, the slide serrations don't 'grip' any better than the originals....
As an avowed Glock supporter, I conclude that this 'gen 4 improvement' is just marketing bulls**t to appease dealers' calls for 'improvements' to sell more Glocks in the face of competition from Springfield, S&W, etc......
Glock should have done the obvious...make an 'adjustable' backstrap/grip as has been offered by all of the players who have taken huge chunks out of Glock's initial dominance in the police market...
Glock's indifference to changes, and challenges, in the marketplace is going to come back and bite them on the ass....bigtime.
As has been suggested, you should run out and buy up whatever 'old' generation Glock that strikes your fancy, while you can still get a reasonable deal.....

Hmm, I don't fully agree, but i have to say the new serrations eh... not needed, old ones work fine, but the new RTG is great.

I DO love the idead of an interchangable back strap, i mean its an emplty hole anyways. lol

played with a RTF2 Glock 22 yesterday. no live fire, just handling. I liked it. Much much grippier (is that a word?). More comfortable than skateboard tape, and the serrations were easier to manipulate with gloves on, and gloves off. While esthetically it might not be an improvement, I think it does make the gun easier to control and operate.
