I had pretty much the same problem with a Sako 22-250 AII.After changing the scope and no improvement,I opened up the barrel channel and had the action bedded by a smith. What a difference!
I've been shooting mostly 55's with Varget and getting excellent accuracy out to 300. gj
I've learned a bit from what I've read here on CGN. Some of which is that a rifle that won't shoot heavy bullets as well as lighter ones is usually due to a rifling twist rate. I don't know for sure, but hope it helps.
It's been said several times already, but try a different scope.
Amazing how often a rifle that won't shoot has a bum scope on it. And 2 of the last 4 brand new Leupolds I have bought have needed "repair" for this same reason.
well 30 thou off the lands and Varget cut in around .6 for 5 shots I think with a little work fidgitting with the OAL a few thou fooling around with the 34.0 g varget charge plus minus it will be a 1/2 honest rifle
A lot happier,
BTW it shot 40 rg bullets pretty good, but 52 gr SMK or A-MAX 52s were better
At least i have a starting place, what a picky frigging rifle!!!!!!
