5\10 Round Mags (Marstar?) Anybody?

Hey guy's, andone know where to get the 5\10 rd straight mags that they had at Marstar? Im not getting any info back from them about it, im assuming that they are probably out of stock, and pretty busy. Anyone got some to sell? Sorry if this is the wrong forum...

Yeah, you got the wrong forum (I did the same thing), but to answer your question, I just got a PM from the owner. I do believe the 5/5's are all that is left. I called awhile back and was told to try again in a couple weeks, but with the cross border laws I'm not holding much faith in it. I'm in Red Deer and was told that there might be something available at the Calgary gun show on Easter weekend. If you have a chance to make it down you might luck out. I'll tell you what, If I can find a couple, I'll pick up an extra for you and we can settle up later (seeing as no one else is being too helpful on the subject).
I feel your pain brother, I have an ATI folding stock with a tri-rail barrel block, Socom handgaurd, tri-rail receiver and a silly @ss looking stock magazine. I just want it to look more like my AR. After spening all this effort on obtaining my desired look, I'm stuck half finished. Kinda like finding out I can only get 225's for my 4" lifted cherokee instead of 31's, it just doesn't look right. It's like crapping your pants at the mall and all you can find is a pair of speedo's. I'll let you know what I find; God I hope that was a fart!.

Hey man, whats your beef with speedo's anyway? Ooops, I said beef and speedo's in the same sentence. That would be so RAD if you do find a couple of those mags, I'd buy one or more of them offa you. Seriously, I'll tack on a courtesy fee onto what you pay for 'em. That would make my day. Those are the only style of Mag I really like for my SKS, Im not really into the banana shaped ones. They look a lot more like M14 Mags too, which I really dig... Thanks for the offer man. I hope the show goes well...

Hey, no problem brother. I've been all over this forum trying as hard as I can with no cooperation, you'd think I was looking for a piece of land to bury a body. I've been in trouble because I didn't specify the "pinned to 5" part, but I understand why. When I spoke to a few dealers they say the only way is to find someone in Canada who will part with one or go State side and pin them BEFORE coming back, but I have a feeling you would be taking a chance that the guards would just say sorry and take them. I suppose a person could take that chance, but a trip down there for a specific commodity that may be held? You better be rich!

Just to clarify, I by no means suggest this as the law may state in the result of such attempt you will be fined or worse.

All in all my now tactical looking SKS looks like it pooped its pants at the mall. I had resigned myself to go the way of the CZ-858, but they seem to have been snapped up. $650 seems to be a good deal, comes with 4 5/30rnd mags (banana style) and some other goodies, but to get the furniture will push you well above $1000, and I've already invested an extra $300 plus on top of $225 for the SKS. Have a look, they look like the AK. There is a video on you tube that shows the SKS and CZ in a comparison with folding stocks. The SKS looks quite like mine and the CZ doesn't look much different, just more expensive. I'll look for the 5/10, but I'm getting the banana style if I can find it too. I may have to duct tape my AR mag to the bottom of my SKS to get the look I want.

BC DF (SRY det.) You're a member? How do you feel about the availability, do you think it's really that bad to have the pinned style? I don't want to start a political debate (the moderators will not appreciate it), just asking your opinion. I see you have a duckbill as well, how has it treated you?

See? ####. (Oops, can I say that on line?) They look rad on there. I love those straight mags. Why are they so goddamn hard to find? I dont really see that many of them on Sks's.

Here is mine out of the original. You can see it would benifit astheticly from a larger pinned mag. It looks close to a modified CZ-858 with a deformed mag, but cheaper and almost there. Perhaps not for everyone, but for those that don't agree; relax Pops, it'll fit right back into the original so don't get heartburn over it.

nice! A larger mag would definetly turn that thing from a boy's to a men's! how difficult was it to install the tri rail? did you hafta modify much?
 
Five minutes for all installs, no mods at all. My front handguard twisted slightly from side to side before, but with the system it fits tight and the rail should hold zero. Five minutes and I'm back to oroiginal.
 
I'm lookin for that same one too.. PM me anyone and I'll include a finders fee! I'll keep you in mind boys if I find em.
 
Well, I caught the last 2 hours of the show. I asked around, but was told there wasn't much for the SKS. I found 1 Yugo and that was it. Same story from everyone, "GET IT WHILE YOU CAN!".
Sorry Leigh, I'll keep looking though.
