I picked up 2 of these sks 5/20 mags today and cant figure out how the base plate comes off or how these are pinned. I called Moreguns where i got them but they couldnt tell me how to take off the base plate or how they are pinned.
Can anyone tell me?
If this base plate doesnt come off i think i will return them.
Hope someone knows.
Thanks

Its not ment to be taken off... you have to use a small flat head screw driver and pry on those steal clips that hold the bottom of the mag to the mag body.. there is an internal plastic banana looking thingy sticking up inside your mag body stopping the follower to hold any more then 5 rounds

They are easy to disassemble you need to drill a small hole depress a lock tab and slide.bottom slides to the FRONT it is snug.the hole needs to be drilled at the u in tapco usa on bottom.just drill through the first layer of plastic.use a screw driver or something to deprss button and slide it off.

They arent "pinned" the restriction is done buy a molded piece of plastic which is part of the spring base...if you are planning to extend the capacity you have to literally cut this piece out...honestly just buy a couple more mags

I bought both. The metal mag and the tapco. The metal mag takes down easily.

Thanks mquality. I drilled the hole on the u in usa on the bottom of the mag like you suggested and then it is easy to stick something through to depress the lock tab.
Thanks to everyone for the input. I clean and oil all my stuff to often to have a mag that i cant clean.
I kind of like the way this mag is limited. The rivets just take away from the cool factor for me. I grind the rivets down and put black marker on them to try to hide them the best i can. Its bad enough they are neutered, I dont want to have it "uglying" up my guns.
