Well went and had my marlin model 62 in 30 carbine rebarreled with a sako .22 barrel and chambered into the 5.7 Johnson and it has turned out just great. now have get some amo reloaded and test it out.

Here is a picture of it. Not sure if anyone has done this on a marlin before as most 5.7 Johnsons are built on a M 1 30 carbine. Nice thing on the marlin is the mag is bigger and there for will be able to seat the 50 -55 gr bullets. From all the reading I have done it is a very efficient cartridge some say even better than the K hornet. There is a big following of the 5.7 in the US

Will post more info once I have taken it out to test some loads.

We did a couple on Brno ZKW 465's and another on a Ruger no 3, they worked extremely well.
The Brno's required the magazines to be opened up, everything else was left as was(apart from the chambers).

If it is a .22 barrel, your bullet choices may be limited. Twist could be too slow for 50 or 55 grain bullets. Might or might not matter, but groove diameter may be better with .223 Hornet bullets.
