Looking to share infos regarding this caliber....
Does anyone uses CFE pistol for that caliber, what are your experiences reloading this round...?
Thx

I have reloaded 5.7x28mm FN for the past three years and have learned a great deal. Therefore I am still a NOVICE...

There is a large amount of load data at the reloading sub-forum of FiveseveN Forum here:
http://www.fivesevenforum.com/viewforum.php?f=19&sid=25fd4ad70ad9ec4fbd3e07379ce90f1d

This is a challenging caliber to reload, proceed with caution. If you are reloading for either the FN FiveseveN pistol or the FN PS-90, remember that they both use straight blowback operation (from a closed bolt) and the polymer coating on the cases is critical in causing a slight delay in the blowback. In other words, don't use carb cleaner to remove that coating! Say NO to shiny cases! ;)

Deprimed cases must be washed by hand or ultrasonic cleaned using a warm solution of approx 90% Water, 10% Simple Green and a tablespoon of liquid Dish Soap (Dawn etc.). Rinse repeatedly with warm water. Air dry only.
Never use wet or dry tumbling as this will compromise the polymer case coating!

Once-fired cases are good for only about two or sometimes three reloads before they show signs of failure in the shoulder area. Case rupture at 50,000 psi in a blowback firearm is NOT GOOD...

Experts declare that Ramshot True Blue is THE powder of choice (hard to find in most of Canada). IMR SR4756, Accurate No. 5, Hodgdon HS-6 and Hodgdon CFE Pistol are other good choices with available data at the forum link above.

Although it is considered a pistol cartridge, Small Rifle primers are recommended (especially if using a ball powder).

Hornady .224" 40 gr V-MAX bullets (22241) are the best choice as Hornady provides this bullet (with blue tip instead of red) to FNH USA for their SS197SR cartridge.

COL is always 1.594" maximum. Having an Elite Ammunition GO/NO-GO Cartridge Gauge is a good idea but good luck getting one! (http://www.eliteammunition.com/#!/Case-Gauge-go-no-go-5-7x28-Elite-Ammunition/p/51304009/category=18984037)

Lee Factory Crimp Die is recommended on all bullet types as original cartridges are glued bullets (to further delay blowback)

Expect to achieve 40 grain bullet velocities up to 2,000 fps from a Five-seveN handgun and as much as 2,400 fps from a NR PS-90

If you want to reload this caliber, you had better enjoy reloading more than shooting !
