5/75 SKS drum

Frontier Firearms always seems to surprise us with these little things. I find that 5/75 round thing would make me sad. Just cause it's pinned.

So how are they fixed to 5 rounds? Is it pinned with a rivet? Welded? Can you still load normally from the top using stripper clips, or do you have to open the drum to load it? Hard to find any info on these, maybe some of the more experienced drum mag users can chime in.

AK/SKS drums load from the back. Pretty sure they can't be loaded from the top at all, at least I've never seen anyone bother trying. If these are pinned the same as the others I've seen, they'll have a small metal tab riveted to the body, which keeps the internal mechanism from rotating far enough to accept more than 5rds. Same as anyhting else, keeps honest people honest.

I can't bring myslef to spend more on a mag, that will never legally hold more tha 5rds, than I did on the rifle it fits. That's just me. Whatever floats your boat, especially if it irritates hippies, go for it.

Ive tried every type of mags for the SKS... the drum was the worst one...

Ive ditch all my plastic 5/20 and metal 5/30 and run my original one...

SKS-D with the AK mags feeds like a dream. Another rifle I shouldn't have sold. It's always been a bit of a hassle trying to get the aftermarket mags to feed propperly on the standard SKS.
