does anyone out there know of any rifles chambered in this calibre?
savage has 2 versions of their model 25 listed but aren't on the market yet.
i already have 500 rounds of ammo but no rifle.

None, other than Savage than what I am aware of. Are you open to building one on your own?

Why not go with a rifle in .22 Hornet Ballistics are similar and you can much more easily source ammo.

Your attention span can't possibly be that low. lol. He said he had 500 rds. already. That's more than enough to get him started and leaves him with a plentiful supply of once fired brass that he can reload indefinitely.

I would suggest he buy a Remington 700 or Model 7 in .17 Rem FB and simply re-barrel the rifle. Then he'd have 10x the rifle that the Savage is.

In the end, that's still spending a lot of money for something that you can easily duplicate the ballistics of in the much more versatile .223 Remington.

re my 5.7x28 thread

i already have ruger #3 in 22 hornet- remington 700 in 222rem- savage model
25 in 223 rem.
the 22 hornet is hard to load for and not terribley accurate compared to other 22's. i would be
better off converting to 22k hornet as this is a way more accurate round.
what's wrong with having another centrefire rifle in 22 calibre?
also to convert remington 700 to 5.7x28 i would not only need a rifle but will need a new bolt and follower and barrel. after all the boltface will be too small as it is basically the same size as a 25 acp on the rim.
i do believe that the 5.7x28 would be one hell of a medium range varmint cartridge.

I can read contrary to popular belief, I just figured the OP wanted some super cool tactical sniper rifle in 5.7 because he saw it in a video game or whatever.

The 5.7 looks like a neat little cartridge to work with, one of those less is more type rounds. It would be ideal for a walking Varmint gun, would the 5.7 work in a CZ 527?
