I'm looking for a 5/8" 24 F to 1/2" 28 M barrel thread adapter. Seems to be a hard item to find. Lots going from 1/2 to 5/8. Anyone know of a place to purchase in canada?

Why not just use a .308 brake?
I have never seen one that goes form a large female diameter to a small male diameter, you might have to get a machinist to cut it out of a cylinder piece.
 
You can just buy the brake and have a machinist open up the 1/2 x 28 threads to 5/8 x 24, I do believe True North Arms offers a service at a reasonable price.
