5/8x24 .308 Flash hiders / Brakes on 7.62x39

Hey Guys,

Is it possible to use 5/8x24 .308 brakes on 7.62x39?

All Flash hiders / Brakes i found states it's for .308/7.62 but if we get technical (with the very small knowledge i have):

1 - I understand the .308 bullet diameter is 7.8mm --- The 7.62 is 7.92mm --- 7.62 is 0.12mm larger - Something to worry about?
2 - I understand that the 7.62x39 is .311 compared to .308
3 - The brake i am locking to buy is 0.850" Diameter on barrel.

I asked a very friendly shop if it will work and they advised it will.

Just would like you guys opinion on this to clarify as there is no much information on the internet.

It’ll work fine. The bullet difference is about .003 which is just about nothing.

It’ll be fine. I use a flaming pig designed for 300blk/308 on my x39 AR.

Not only possible but correct. I see lots of guys putting 1/2 inch brakes on 30 cal rifles. The id can always be opened up a smeck if need be.

I have a 35 cal brake on my 223. It still works.
I had a thread about it earlier and alot of great info was shared. Even some videos showing effects

You should put your calipers on some of your 7.62x39. You'll find a lot of it is .310 and some is .308, not much is actually .311. The same goes for 7.62x54R.
