I got to the farm and was all setup by 4:50…. After about 5 minutes of calling dying rabbit this coyote came out and started running toward my decoy. I used my lowest volume hand call (dying rabbit sound) because it was so calm out there I figured the sound would travel pretty good/far… Anyway as the coyote got closer to the decoy it started running faster (hungry I guess)… I started to get nervous, heart started racing even more so let out a big wolf sound causing him to stop in his track. He turned slightly toward me allowing me to put the bullet right into his chest (frontal shot) dropping him in his tracks 50 yds away… DRT….
The setup

How it played out

Edit: A nice healthy 32lb male

Looking at your setup pics it appears the wind was at your back and he still ran into you? Did you find a pack with some kind of dominant DUMB gene...:confused:

Oh well best to take the weak ones out of the gene pool!! ;)

Congrats, nice job.........................AGAIN!!! :d:d:d

Wind was coming across my face from right to left.... away from where the coyote was coming from....it was blowing across the open field to my left not toward the bush

After you drop the coyote try a pup in distress call. Often you'll get another dog to come in a hurry. Similar to Turkey hunting when the jakes attack the dead Tom.

Thanks for sharing. Great photos, hope you have a good season..

Cheers
