5 round garand clips?

I wonder if you could 3D print something and rivet it to the 8round clip to effectively limit it to 5 rounds only...

I want to bring my Garand to my tree stand a couple times and hunt with it this year. Last season Nova Scotia DNR told me I needed a 5 round clip to hunt with my Garand because it is a semi automatic. The original 8 round clip will cost me my rifle and possibly my truck + fine if i get caught with it. Ejecting out 3 rounds is not an option. I will would be in possession of a magazine capable of more then 5 rounds.

Have you read the regs on this? Does not sound right.
 
Long ago I read a gun mag article about drilling an 8 round enbloc and putting a countersunk or flathead screw screw in, with a nut on the inside that limited the number of rounds that particular enbloc would hold.

I wonder if you could epoxy or JB weld 3 pieces of empty 308 brass in place to only allow 5 rounds of 30-06.
 
As mentioned, Brownell’s or Creedmore Sports is the ‘easy button’ option.
Making them from 8 rounders is a pain in the a$$.

You could argue the fact that the magazine is integral to the rifle on the garand, but I suspect that is an exercise as futile as pi$$ing up a rope.
