5 Round Garand Clips?

Does anybody have any details or pics on making 5 round clips? I would like to try taking a deer with my M1 and Alberta does not make an exemption for the Garand regarding 5 rounds max while hunting.

I don't think that would count.

You're right ,that wouldn't limit the enbloc capacity,

I have heard of clipping and folding the lip of these enblocs to allow only 5 rounds and yet is easily loaded in rifle .try google 5 round garand enblocs and see.

I believe you simply slit the feed lip on one side, near the rear, and form the sheet metal inwards. (This then becomes the bottom of the clip)

If you google, you'll likely find some prefab 5 round clips for the M1.

While that would limit me to 5, the government would not approve. The clip must not be capable of holding more than 5 rounds. I wish the hunting regs mirrored the federal regs and exempted the Garand, but no such luck.

Mark,you can buy commercial 5 rd clips,and also 2 and 1 rd ones. I have several 5rd,but can't name a Cdn source for them.

Brownell's or Cabelas then? Are these still shippable from the US?

Have you checked with F&W on whether or not the Garand might be exempted?
