5 Round Stripper clips for SKS?

I have several 5-round clips that I made by cutting 10-rounders in half with the dremel

then pinched the ends with a pair of pliers to keep the rounds from falling out. This works just fine, just need to be mindful of which end you stick in the gun to reload.

Joe549, the only thing I did to my 5rnd from 10 rnd clips is to paint the end that goes into the gun (with that little spring cutout) red. Works like a hot damn.

I believe the French also had to paint a certain clip red (not sure if it was a Berthier rifle) so the shooter knew which way to insert the clip as it only went in one way.

Mark the middle of the stripper clip with a pencil or better yet a metal scriber. Put the clip in a vice just slightly above the jaws of the vice. Level it and score it several times with the edge of a small triangle or knife edge file. Once you have a decent score mark, simply snap it off in the direction of the score mark. It should break easily. Crimp the cut ends gently with a pair of plyers. You don't need to crimp them very much, you will break them if you do. If you have access to some of that epoxy rubber that you use to dip tool handles in to make grips, you can dip the crimped ends in that to make that end easily identifiable and less likely for the loaded rounds to drop out or be inserted into the gun wrong.

Haven't really tried. But you adjust the screw such that you can load the 5 and the 6th one doesnt fall off the clip.
You can quickely slide in the first 5 and pull out the clip leaving the next 5 on the clip so loading is faster.
Usually when I an loading it is to shoot. I guess if you were setting up for hunting etc you may want them all in the magazine enabling you to walk around with it ready to load. In which case just load in 4.
