50 000 round M&P9 torture test

50000 rounds? Ha, there's a few Glocks with over a few millions rounds with nothing broken, plus they've been subjected to freeze tests, mud, cold, heat, getting run over by 4x4's etc in their tests. A S&W would die during similiar tests. I will rely on my dependable Glock thank you.

Yeah, whatever...

You didn't just drink the koolaid, you have a large-bore Glock koolaid IV running into each arm!!! Everything that is mechanical breaks eventually. I've seen Glocks break (broken one myself) and kaBoomed (kB'd 2 myself). A few million rounds with no breakage?? I don't think so - the most I've seen is a range gun that Glock bought back fromt he range because it had about 500k +/- thru it, but it did have parts replacement and some breakage.

"Glock Perfection" is a useful and catchy marketing slogan but nothing is truly perfect. If it was they wouldn't have had a factory team complete with trailer parked at Rodman's Neck for 2 whole years trying to sort out the NYPD's G19, to say nothing of their other difficulties over the years....

I love the armchair bandits.... Do the test, then, after you have proof, pull whatever you want to out of your butt...

Todd is doing the test for the M&P, not as a comparison to the Glock, besides, I would expect something like a Glock that has been around as long as it has to have been tweaked and made to run reliably.

I agree.

It's hard to make a clam like that when there is no proof of that.
I wonder how many people said the same thing about the Glock when it was first seen a "plastic" pistol back in the 80's.

I'm sure ALOT of people lost bets that they thought that it wouldn't last the test of time.

this is getting good :D

oh and to the HK P7 guy...... Ha haaaaa!

To be honest, while I like my G17 but I think Glock is only good at $599 or less and they are very reliable. But I did also read a lot of post at Glock talk about parts breakage. at the end of the day, everything will break.

you couldn't get me to own a glock even if it was free....... try and give me one..... i dare ya :nest: ..... and no i'm not even kidding

If you're talking about 45 calibre pistols, the Glock offering is barely useable for lots of folks. If you happen to be able to grip it and have you're finger in the same postal code as the trigger, it's great, but the fact that the M&P's grip is the same size in 9 and 45 is a real break through.
