The .50 Beowulf magazine really seems to be a difficult topic for all government parties. I don't think you'll find a government body that openly approves of them, even if saying "yes" makes sense by law. Honestly, it would be better for everyone if the Federal Government would just do away with mag capacity laws all together. Rivets don't save lives anyhow...
Interesting. The 20-round curved mags aren't listed there either.

Think on this, if the swiss arms wasn't sold in thousands for a decade, made them too costly politically and financially to confiscate, would the government still have stepped in? No it would been confiscated like many others (t97).
If these mags are made by c products, stamped by c products, inspected by the CBSA, what is the issue?
BooSSted, I know these "cheap" c mags are hurting your AA mags sale on EE, so I get the hate, but think about the bigger picture,
More of these mags are sold, more political advantage we have for change of mag compacity law,
NR magzine, please try to bring more AA mags in under $50, so everyone can have more selections.

It's all about intent, if you bought a live grenade from an antique shop, it's not your fault.
Maybe the judge will buy that story. But before you get in front of the judge, you will be arrested, charged and spend your life savings on lawyers' fees...to say nothing of the stress of facing the prospect of a prison sentence. I would venture a guess that most people don't want to get charged in the first place, even if the charges don't stick.

I would like to see a 50 Beo upper actually cycling rounds, having a cut out purportedly for feeding it doesn't mean much.
There's really no way to know if anyone inspected these mags unless the importer is going to offer some evidence. They certainly have some indicators of being remanufactured 223 mags.
I get what you are saying, but unfortunately it's risky just by owning guns in this country, I own 2 swiss arms, 1 vz58,
I was a paper criminal before the amnesty, if I was stopped I could have been charged.
anybody who does not want to take the risk should not buy these mags, even the AA version is never been formally approved by the RCMP.

Yes it was approved for .50 beowolf , but there are no formal statement in writing from the RCMP saying you can used 5.56 rds in AA mags, I have emailed them numerous times for a yes or no answer. They have been playing with the term dual use, we simply don't know which direction they are going with these mags. There ar always certain degrees of risks involved until the RCMP come out with clarification.
I have always been an advocate for these mags, but I understand some people may not be comfortable with risk, hence my comments about don't buy if you are unsure.
4. Magazines designed for one firearm but used in a different firearm
The maximum permitted capacity of a magazine is determined by the kind of firearm it is designed or manufactured for use in and not the kind of firearm it might actually be used in. As a consequence, the maximum permitted capacity remains the same regardless of which firearm it might be used in.
Example:
The Marlin model 45 (Camp Carbine) rifle chambered for 45 Auto caliber uses magazines designed and manufactured for the Colt 1911 handgun, therefore the seven round and eight round capacities are permitted. A similar example is the 10 round capacity magazine for the Rock River Arms LAR-15 pistol, regardless of the kind of firearm it is actually used in.
As well: The capacity is measured by the kind of cartridge the magazine was designed to contain. In some cases the magazine will be capable of containing more than 10 rounds of a different caliber; however that is not relevant in the determination of the maximum permitted capacity.

Shawn, I know that bulletin, and I know these mags are legal according fireatms act.
But are the RCMP not known for their flip flop on these issues?
Browing 1919 for instance, they were all made by surplus parts, they have been legal to import and to own for years,
The RCMP approved it, now they are saying all side plates and trunion has to be newly made, other wise they are prohibited.
Many canadian 1919 owners could be in procession of a prohibited firearms right now.

More people own these mags better, but there is no one version/brand of these mags are 100% risk free, the rcmp's unwillingness to come out say yes should tell you that.
