In the off chance the AR becomes non-restricted,It would be great to get a 50 upper, anyone had any experience with a ferret or any of the other manufactures uppers?

I could be wrong but I think I remember seeing AR lowers that were modified to be used only with the 50bmg uppers that were non-restricted.

But maybe I'm on crack.:)

from what i recall, the .50bmg uppers have a tendency to crack lowers aroiund the pins.. as they were never designed to handle the recoil .. maybe a few companies stepped up for stronger lowers but i cant help you there, as im not a black rifle kinda guy.

just some food for thought

It'd be single shot only since there is no way in hell you'll feed BMG through the AR15 or even AR10 mag well... Unless you're talking Beowolf then that's a different story.

There is a single shot 50BMG that uses the same ergonomics (same grip and safety is in the same place) which I think is an Armalite product if I'm not mistaken but it's all proprietary.

I had an ALS upper on a single shot "California" lower when I lived in the US.

Its chamber was cut to allow it to shoot any kind of milsurp ammo. Never tried any kind of match ammo in it. I've never seen one of these on this side of the border.

I designed one years ago. Never got around to building it.

The mag well on repeating 50bmg uppers is at 9 o'clock rather then 6.

Does anybody know of any dealer in Canada who stocks a .50 BMG AR upper? Or, has anyone had any experience importing one through IRunGuns or some other importer?

I think I want to own one (or at least a .50 BMG receiver of some type) before or fairly soon after the next federal election...just sayin'...

Interesting...
Built with no magwell at all.
If it also has no ability to have a buffer tube attach, I wonder if it even would be an AR variant?
At that point it is just a fire control group.
