Yes, and it went to a good home. It spends summers in the mantlet and winters on the tripod. Life could be worse. Yes Colt but I can't see evidence of a saw cut???

It was a long long time ago, but I think they were cut just below the back of the top cover.

A nice example with tripod will usually see between 5K to 10K. I have seen a number of them sell for the 5K mark. There is one at collectors source with tripod for 7K, and has been there for some time. It is welded solid as per the latest guidelines, which will weigh against it, but I am surprised it has not sold.

There aren't many 12(2) or12(3) grandfathers left. And just to illustrate the intricacy of Canadian gun laws, some time ago, a collector contacted me looking for a Lewis gun. The complication was that it would have to be full-auto, because he had 12(2) status, but not 12(3). Full-auto grandfathering does not include converted auto. Just because you can be trusted with a fully-automatic firearm, that doesn't mean you can be trusted with a semi-auto look-alike. After all, it's those semi-autos that are causing our current bloodbath.
