So this may turn out to be a stupid question but...... can you legaly own a 50 cal rifle in canada?

dont belong to a club, most of my shooting is done in the back 40, i was just curious might be an investment some day down the line

Yes and you can even own a semi-auto .50 cal. This is even non-restricted (depending on model) The serbu one is no longer available but try finding around.
You can own a Semi-Automatic Bullpup .50 BMG, Non-Restricted. And it's black too. To my knowledge, except for .32 and .25 ACP (is it those two?), Canada has no caliber restrictions in place.
I thought it was just that the only guns that used these calibers are prohibited because of barrel length and it had mothing to do with the ammo used. Aren't those calibers primarily for the little pocket rocket/purse pistols?
