M1A $1350? seriously I wanna one.
That is a decent price for a basic M1A, considering that here in the states, they sell for about $1700 and up.

I know your post was a little while ago, but I am sorry, if you think manufacturers project sales on what people say about their product, I can guarantee you that you are wrong, I would even bet they DO NOT EVEN LOOK AT THIS FORUM. Its all based on sales , how many units they ship out and how many get reordered , has nothing to do with what people say about them. The DEALERS are not raising their profit margin, NORINCO is raising the price to dealers, which trickles down to us having to pay more. But yeah, lets go hypothetical , lets say they sell one third what they do now, but we all talk about how great and awesome they are, they WOULD NOT raise the price. On the flip side, lets say they sold even more then they do now, and every single person on this forum bashed them and talked #### about them, they would assume that we are not part of their projected market that buys them, and would go right ahead and raise the price for people that ARE buying them.
In short, they look at the piece of the paper that says how many they sell and how quick.
This crack pot hasn't a clue about how a business is ran. Every business in the world sets the price as high as they think the market will tolerate.
The term is "Priced at what the market will bear" It's the reason a can of Coke is $1 in every convenience store in the country.
Hence, the price of that rifle is going up for EVERY dealer, not just one, sure , accuse them of all coming together and agreeing on jacking the price up, but if that true, there will be hold outs selling them cheaper elsewhere, I am betting you wont find that anywhere.
Lever are selling SVT 40s much cheaper than anyone else. Crackpot ?
What about the norinco ammo not being imported for the next time being for how long I don't know maybe forever. I'm more worried about that ? Also lever is not selling it for much more then let's say marstar a Christmas deal go look it up 35 bucks more .....
Personally, and I might have posted this already.... But if dealers expect the m14 gravy train to keep rolling right along.... The price should be no where near 750.00
If the vendors can show us a rifle with newly manufactured receivers that pass GI standards and sights, flash hiders, stocks and general machining QC are also raised to same quality... Then fine, raise the price.
At this point, the known history on these rifles tells us that the chinese are getting to the bottom of the barrel of what was considered there last machining run (early 90's) so, dress em up however you want... (DA socom or otherwise) and at the end of the day..... You've got the same cheap rifle.
Price increases to over 500.00 retail will be met with guys moving on to other firearms, garauntee it.

I beleive that all firearms are overpriced except for the milsurp. There is no way in hell that a mass produced hunk of plastic/wood and steel is worth in thousands of dollars especially considering that the technology is very old. I wonder how much the profit margin for each unit is...
The price of THAT rifle , says it right there in my quote you replied to. I guess you missed thatTell me a store that sold the M305 for cheaper then 450 in the past year.
Surplus rifles seem to differ in prices, again, awful example as they are not manufactured, they're stock piled, hence the difference in norincos SKS prices and SKS's general, seems like deals on large purchases can be made, like canam, they seem to do large purchases, looks like they moved A LOT of m305;s in a really short time, now down to 20, but that doesnt matter to norinco, what matters to them is what they read here right? Marstar too, the 75 dollar SKS, do you really think they paid the same as everywhere else for them? that said, there are rumors that the receivers for M305's were stock piled , and thats why we were getting them so cheap for so long. ( I have no idea of how true it is, but seems plausible)
But whatever, get together with your buddy, talk about how awful and ####ty guns are , hell, why stop there, lets all talk about how ####ty some ammo brands are like the cheap ones like MFS , why not Chevrolet too? They are sure to ignore actual sales and just drop prices based on hey read on the internet![]()
I believe the rumour about stockpiled receivers is a fact.
I recently sent my receiver number to Different to confirm its year of manufacture.
Turns out the receiver in my 09 Longy was made in 93 , so there must have been a pile of them somewhere.
