Ordered a Daisy 34. Understand that I need PAL and have it.

Question: Do I need to register it with the CFC like a real firearm?

... Thanks for any expertise.

It is treated just like an unrestricted firearm. You say you ordered it. Didn't the dealor require your pal and do a transfer with the CFC?

Dealer asked for PAL # and City of Birth. But the purchase has yet to be processed.

When I sold a firearm once before, I contacted the CFC with my registration info, and the purchasers PAL#. They gave me a transfer authorization # and I believe that the buyer had to contact them to complete the paperwork.

Is this how it works with a new gun from a dealer?

Almost all RWS/Diana rifles come from the factory bone dry.I'd suggest either taking it apart yourself and lubing it or getting someone else to lube tune and polish it for you.Saves damage breaking it in..................this will void the warranty but you'll have a gun that works in the end............Harold

There seems to be a growing trend of people buying new air rifles and tuning them.. I can see it being done when buying a less expensive make, such as a Chinese airgun and taking it apart to deburr and lube. I just find it ridiculous for somebody to buy a quality air gun like a Diana or Weihrauch, and have to take it apart to improve it's function. Shouldn't it be already done? Example, I want to buy a $500 Weinrauch , but I'm not able, or want to take it apart, do I have cough up an additional expense to have it tuned by somebody? Thanks

I know what you mean.I have a RWS34 in .22 for my son that was so harsh it rattled the stock screws loose every dozen shots.Upon taking it apart the mainspring was severely kinked and the piston seal split.I ordered a Apex seal and a Macarri GRT kit/mainspring as well as had the barrel recrowned. Now it shoots like it should have before leaving the factory. You're right it shouldn't need fixin brand new.Harold..........they are unlubed drier than fartdust from the factory

Thanks Harold for your expertise on air guns, I guess I have to learn to take apart a springer.
