$500 Norinco???

When the f**k are these anti Chinese posts going to go away?

I'd like to propose "when the f**k are the pro Chinese posts going to go away"?

Is the selection of guns not manufactured in China not great enough here that people feel they have to go out and get a substandard, reverse-engineered version for half the cost?

Hatman, you're back!! w:h:
It just hasn't been the same without you.

While I don't agree with what the hatman posts about Norc firearms, he does have a great avatar..... :p

OK, I am going to make a very bold statement here, one so unbelievable that it may cause controversy for weeks to come. That statement is...

If you don't like something... Don't buy it! Don't support it! Don't even look at it! Leave it ALONE!

Their, I know its so unbelievable that we can choose to buy or not buy something, but its true.

I was out shooting with a friend yesterday. He has a Norc 1911 and I was very impressed with it. Not a single jam, surprisingly good fit and finish, smooth action, and a blast to shoot! It even made me think about buying one!

Relax brother, if you want to support Canada product, fine, go buy Para, but Para didn't care you
Ha, ya, buy a Para. Funny thing, my friend bought the Para GI Expert, it jams every other round, even racking the first one. I just took it for him to my gunsmith, the barrell does not fit the gun properly. It needs some machining, it is sitting forward about 200/1000 of where it is supposed to sit when the slide is forward.
Funny thing, I never had that issue with any of my Norincos.
All of you whiners that bash Norinco, just remember, do to the affordability of Norinco, I bet there are twice as many restricted owners as there would otherwise be. Idont have 2000 dollars to spend on a kimber, sorry.

FWIW, a Norc is a step up from a Para. I know. I've owned both.....d:h:

Some years ago, when Wilson Combat was more of a custom house and less of a manufacturer, he accepted four brands of pistols for making custom work on them. Colt, Norinco, Springfield and Para Ordnance.

Well with ALL my vast Norinco 1911 knowledge:p..........owned two and presently have a third one on the way...LOL.

I've been lucky I guess....both functioned and shot extremely well...especially when you consider they are almost half the price of the next cheapest 1911 style pistol out there and as some would argue are made better then alot of the "others"

They are good value no question about it.....would I prefer a North American made 1911 ? sure I would and I do have a couple Colts too but last time I checked you couldn't buy a Brand new Colt for under 500 bucks now can you ;)

Some people just don't get it. When you say something negative about a product, without any facts to back it up, you are simply insulting people who already own these pistols. It is along the same lines as someone describing their new car, and you telling them it is #### just because it was made somewhere you didn't like. It is rude and ignorant.

Have any of the people here that bash Norinco 1911s even fired one enough o compare it? Exactly where is th ebasis for this negative opinion? I have ssen enough Norinco bashing threads before, and usually ask for proof, but oddly enough, most bashers don't respond. Give me proof.

I don't go on about how great the Norinco 1911 is without experience. I own one, and it is an excellent pistol. I have also shot some non-Norinco pistols that weren't so great, but I don't go around bashing those makes because I am suffereing from some complex that makes me feel better bashing other peoples choices.

Gun snobs suck.

If you want to talk about the quality of a stock, out of the box Norinco and compare it to something pricier, there is no comparison. If you're trying to imply that you would rather have a Norc over a Kimber, I would call you foolish.

Again, for those that haven't read this thread in it's entirety, I said that I have no problem with the guns themselves. I do have a problem with COUNTRY OF ORIGIN.

Like I said before, there are things that you cannot avoid buying that are made in China, guns are not one of those products.

I have handled numerous expensive pistols and there were numnerous times I felt my pistol was equal. Saving money for the same performance is not "foolish".

What's wrong with China by the way? Should I buy American because their foreign and domestic policies are just so darn great?

Funny thread :)

While some seems to pass more time behind the Screen then the Trigger.
I was able to compare my nork with a $1700 Springfeild Yesterday.
Beside the PArk finish ,grip and sight there no shootable difference between my $325 Nork and the $1700 Springfeild.

Not me or the Springfeild owner have seen Handling or Accuracy diffence between both guns. Am I proud that I have resisted the anti China BS and saved almost 1500$ ? Yes !
Did the springfeild Owner felt like Selling his less then 500 rounds 17 hundreds handgun to get a Nork like mine his answer was , YES

Bottom line, if the North American gun industry produced guns that flat worked well without bells and whistles and cool looking foof for a good price, Norinco wouldn't be doing so well. They don't support this segment of the market, so I don't see any competition here. If they wanted a share of this mainly "entry level" market, they could have it. They don't seem to want it.

The funny thing about the U.S. 'slowgun': "Buy American", it applies to everyone else... I presume it was probably originated by U.S. trade unions... The other white meat around here on CGN! The debt held by the Chinese over the U.S. is staggering & could collapse both economies if cashed in...
So buying a Norinco in around about way is supporting the U.S. market by shoring up China's markets and lessening the likely hood of a U.S. foreclosure...:D:p:nest: So buy a Glock...

This comment makes me sad. :(

Huh? Your the one having some issue with the COUNTRY OF ORIGIN.

Either way, I'll keep shooting my Norincos. I have to add that my Norinco copy of the Sig 226 is a great pistol too. Awesome fun at the range. Maybe one day I'll save up and blow over $1000 on a pistol, but I'll still not knock a firearm because of where it it made.
