That's something I was thinking, might improve reliability with such large mags, would be like a paintball hopper, with the electric feeding mechanism. A spring for 500 rounds, being consistant through the whole cycle? Sounds like a nightmare, imagine how compressed it'd be with 500, and how loose it'd be when only 1 round was left. I know of course, if the magazine were electric though, it'd be one more thing I'd forget to turn off when I'm done shooting. My 10/22 red dot, gets 2 range trips per battery, due to exactly that.
