Since yesterday 500 CCI Stingers went tru my 10-22 TD all from my 4 Butler creek steel lips 25 rounds, if i except one malfunction in the first mag, this rig has been flawless, mounted a Vortex Sparc on it, accuracy is 1 to 1.5 inch at 75 metres...
I am very satisfed with my new rimfire rig, the TD is no different than any other 10-22, fun and reliable....
Maybe the fact i only shoot Stingers in any of my rimfires do help in a way to prevent malfunctions... Members having troubles with their rifle could try a box... JP.

On the phone with a gunsmith, i was told that the newer production takedown 10-22 had the mag well fixed, that is tru, i just got 50 Stinger out of 2 mags ( Butler creek steel lips ) holding the rifle by the mag and no malfunctions, at the beginning, i did find them hard to insert, i know why now... JP.

I've put about 400rds threw my 10/22 TD using Blazer and Winchester Wildcat ammo....At the very beginning I had two double feeds, one with each brand....Flawless after that...

As to the bolt staying open on the last round, it doesn't bother me so much that I would go monkeying around with the insides...I'm not that confident with that part of my skills....

Awesome looking set up! I'd love a 10/22 take down with BX-25 magazines, but it's good to hear these Butler Creeks work too!

Those are my first Butler Creek mags, i guess my factoy mags will find a place in the parts box... JP.

I supplied the link on RCMP reasoning on the BX-25 magazines so you can examine their analysis and ruling.

Loading 21,22,23,24 or 25 rounds in the BC magazines results in function issues for me in the 10-22.. Loading 20 or less works fine.
YMMV.

I believe these http://shopruger.com/10_22-BX-25-Magazine/productinfo/90361/ would count as a rim fire magazine manufactured for a semi automatic rifle and not a pistol.

"Magazines designed to contain rimfire cartridges and designed or manufactured for use in a rifle do not have a regulated capacity"

I've never seen a BX-25 in a pistol before, but that would make it prohibited.

I thought the BX-25 was fine because it is designed to work in a .22LR rifle?

I could be wrong though, so someone please set me straight if I am!

This genuine Ruger® factory magazine with Ruger® logo has been tested and has proven to feed as reliably as the standard BX-1™ 10-round Ruger® rotary magazine. BX-25® magazines will work with any factory original Ruger® 10/22® rifle, SR-22® rifle, and 22 Charger™ pistol. Ruger® cannot bill to or ship 25-round magazines to the following states and cities: California, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington DC, Aurora, Chicago, Cicero, & Oak Park, Illinois. DO NOT ORDER THIS PRODUCT, if you live in these locations.

The bold part is the problem hence must be pined to 10

I shot a few hundred stingers out of my new TD with new BC steel lip 25s. Found that if loaded to 25 every 2nd round would jam until about 5-6 were through, then all was good. I haven't made any mods to it but I may if it continues.
With the factory ruger 10 shot all was good, no problems.
