Hey, ALL our handguns are "useless" since we aren't supposed to use them other than at the range. So all we have left is to reach for a can o' AWESOME! ! ! ! 
And yes, anything in the big boomer cartridges is totally [monster truck voice mode on] AWESOME ! ! ! ! ! [monster truck voice mode off] .

I know what you mean, I have a S&W 460V and it definitely screams "Hey look at me" every time I pull the trigger.

I've had one for a while now,
and from my experience, two things stand out;
#1, with full house loads, it has the ability to inflict pain, at both ends.
#2, anything I've put through it, hot loads or light loads, cast or jacketed, they all shoot remarkably well.
I've made inquiries and should funds come available with a Loto 649 win, #1 on my 'bucket list' or list of things to do is a Moose hunt with the S&W 500 in Alaska.
