I was wondering if anybody knows where a guy can get .500 smith and wesson bullets, either projectiles or factory loads. wss and russels dont seem to have any.
It's a rare one. And when you find the Hornady stuff expect to pay around $4 a round.
I found some of the brass, bullets and primers at the Kamloops gun show last summer. But the brass and primers is the less desireable stuff that uses large pistol primers instead of the small rifle primers like the current stuff does. But since I'm shooting my .500 from a TC Encore single shot primer bulging isn't really a biggie for me. Still, the point is to not give up. The stuff is out there but it just takes a bit more searching from some of the less obvious providers.
I got a link to a great article that may well inspire you towards cast lead bullets for the 500. I'd have thought that jacketed stuff was the only way to go but this .500 guru has had great results using cast bullets and gas checks or in some cases no gas checks. It may expand your options.
Epps has them. My friend bought a SW 500 there a couple of weeks ago and picked up some factory loads, reduced recoil and full power. We tried out he reduced ones first, they were about the same as 44mag. The full power was a different story, they moved the building.

I have bought a few things here from Jerry Teo (mysticplayer) and find him to be most excellent to deal with! Most recently he is getting me some .475 projectiles so I am sure he could get you .50 caliber projectiles.
