Hi, friends, if you already own a scoped Norinco M14, and you have $500 to burn at this moment, but you can only choose in these options: another Norinco M14, ammos for the M14, USGI parts/accessories for the M14. what will you choose? Thank you.

I want to buy some USGI mags, do you know if thoes Marstar mags are USGI or not? thanks.

I don't know, have to ask someone else about Marstar's magazines, I do know that SAI has all their magazines made by CMI which is the current sole US Military manufacturer for the M14 magazine. :)

Wolverine Supply, they got a link up above, they list the 5 round box magazines (Sized like the 10 round magazines) Part number MA5018 for 42$ each.

Going to order about 4 of them once I pick up my M1A. :D

I bought some CMI mags but they are still sittin stateside till i import them.
They are very nice mags.
The mags with the norinco guns would be sourced by the chinese before they are sent out to whatever company imports them. Hard to say if they make em or not.....
not sure where marstar's mags come from.... apparantly they are pinned to 5 rounds and don't have the long leg follower that the stock rinco 5/20 mags have..... can anyone confirm??

I've been discussing with a canadian dealer on them importing a shwack of the CMI mags........ but no word yet

You and your hints! :D

Well I'm sure the dealer could make quite abit of money, CMI magazines are pretty cheap (30$ each, less then what SAI sells their repackaged ones) when bought in quantity, and there are alot of M14/M1A rifles in Canada that need magazines.

I voted for one more, because that's what I did. As much as I enjoy the ease and precision of a scoped rifle, I had to get anther and leave it iron sights. Its just too much of a joy to be able to ring the 200 yard gong with iron sights. I'd spend the extra $100 on a NM front and rear aperture. And that's just what I did. Or you could spend the $100 on a new stock.

$500, one nice thing a month for the significant other - dinner, cd, flowers, tim hortons... then, hey its nice spending time together so I bought you a Norinco just like mine so we can play on the range together, oh and here is some ammo too. Of course if you skip the one nice thing a month then can get more ammo.

Jeesh, can you believe somebody hacked my account and typed this?

Dmitri.... that wasn't one of my hints hehehehe
I just asked a local dealer , ie: gun shop , to see if he could get his mitts on CMI mags in any decent quantity and he said he'd look into it. He's lurked around this site as well and we talked about the increasing demand for bits and accessories for the m14 type rifles. The market is there....... dealers should be capitilizing...... give it a month or a few and i'm sure we will start seeing some of our dealers capitilizing on this m14 trend...... while it lasts.

yes you are right, stock norinco have a long leg follower, while the marstar have a rivet limiting it to 5 rnds. As for the extra $500 no question........AMMO, AMMO, AMMO the gun wont run without fuel, & practice makes perfect[or at least a bit better]. someone better get some reasonably priced 7.62 nato soon, we are all waiting with empty mags!!
