$5000 to spend, what to do?

Growing up in ON but having lived in BC for years I'd say anything that is a mountain hunt. Anything.
Guiding fees aren't cheap but GOABC will give you a list of every guy to call. http://www.goabc.org/outfitters/

Ah, this money is set aside for an out of province hunt. But I will look him up non the less, always looking for good places to go in Ontario.

Freddy, Angus and I are talking about future hunts..... I have lived in and hunted BC, you won't get the accommodations from angus at the outfitter I recommended, but you will get an absolutely first class hunt with a good guy and an adventure you will be able to have a memory you won't forget..... In a place very few of us get to visit......

I love hunting, but I also love "experiences"...... I have culled wild hogs from choppers, wrestled alligators, hiked Colorado mountains and harvested an elk, and, while my experience may pale in comparison to some here, you can't go wrong in bc.....

I hate when people knock down Ontario for hunting as there is a LOT of opportunity here that the lazy choose not go take advantage of..... But I can't argue that what angus has to offer is amazing and, if you are willing to rough it (adds to the experience IMOP), your experience will be first class....

Why not come here? :) We'd have a good time chasing a spring coastal black bear in the little jet boat up the fjords. Get some time around Grizzlies too.

You can't argue with scenery like that, it is like we live in different worlds when you compare BC to Ontario

Newfoundland for moose , black bear & Woodland Caribou is also an excellent affordable hunt
Cheers

Caribou would be very exciting, be nice to hunt something that you do not get an opportunity to here in Ontario

Big muley in southern AB or Sask would get my vote but then if you've never hunted moose much I'd do that first.
Don't have any outfitter recommendations for ya though.

Well we hunt moose every year...........but my freezer has been moose free for 4 years now. A big Muley is a bucket list animal for sure.

Hookers and blow............ or blow and hookers......either way you win!!!

Always a solid choice, I may save that hunt for if I ever get a divorce.

An "experience" is what I am after, I will always have time to hunt here at home (not far from you!) and you are right there is plenty to do here. But I have a couple bucks that was left to me by a relative that doesn't take away from money for my family that I may just want to use for an adventure.

Honestly the Pacific Northwest is its own place, there is nowhere else like it in North America, or the world. New Zealand is supposed to be the next closest thing, but the trees are a lot bigger here. I call it the Cold Jungle, best way to think of it, and all the water you want, free of charge. Fresh, salt, frozen with no crystal structure, frozen with crystal structure, frozen and flowing, frozen and growing upwards, frozen and hanging downwards, falling, rising, hotsprings (we can likely find time to visit an ocean front one), coldsprings, saltsprings, deep water, shallow water, fast water, slow water, green, blue, turquoise, red, fish infested, whale infested, crustacean infested... All for your pleasure.

Ther is good reason why fly fishermen pack a shotgun in the rivers in BC
I just let my Secret black bear strategy out of the bag Haahaa

Spend your money in Saskatchewan. You can have an authentic high fenced hunt...success virtually guaranteed and have a great trophy to boot!

Numerous private hunt farms to choose from...these guys have invested their own money to produce and protect world class genetics of numerous species. This is truly the only sustainable form of hunting that exists and is carefully controlled to make sure that overharvesting and extinction doesn't happen.

Invest your 5k and show your support for this model as a champion model for conservation!

Might I add...Saskatchewan is one of the last provinces in this country where a man can own wildlife privately...protecting it for future generations to enjoy. And that's no lie!

High fence can't see that being much fun and definitely not what I would call Adventure
Me I like the wild and like my freedom
To much

Not within the last 5 years or so. Think $10-$15,000.
For $5,000, I'd pick mule deer and antelope in Wyoming or similar. Canada is pricey. But the best thing to do is to save a bit more and head to BC. Ardent's pictures are self explanatory.

Can you get them into a chute, like a rodeo bull... somewhere where a knife will do the trick... I'm all over that $50/lb. venison... less the cost of the ammo saved.

I thank the government of Saskatchewan for giving me the choice...do I support the private guy who dedicated his life to protecting the genetic stock and provides me an opportunity to hunt my dream buck or bull and at the same time provide him a decent income.

I deteste the goverment that takes away that choice and leaves me no opportunities or only a few low probability draw hunts that may only happen once in my life or not at all.

May a man have choice over non at all!!
