.500SW reloading

Hi.Gonna start reloading for 500sw to feed my new handi rifle.Any advice on loads would be appreciated.I have read that there is a 700gr load.Has anyone shot or loaded this round?

Yup - stiff load for sure...

This load was safe in my S&W 500

700gr hard cast lead - 27.5gr of LiL'Gun - 2.320" OAL.

IMR4198 - 40.0 grs (full) - 1450 fps
WC-735 - 50.0 grs (slightly compressed) - 1550 fps
BLC-(2) - 48.0 grs (full) - 1200 fps

The 1550 fps load was PAINFUL.

The easiest way is to design one on mountain mould website...

There was a group buy for 700gr mould on Castboolits website a while back - MP moulds make them in brass with ability to make hollow points...

There is a 600gr and 400gr group buys right now....

I've been toying with the idea of converting a Ruger Super Blackhawk in 357 Max I have laying around to this caliber. A 700 gr bullet sounds very interesting indeed. - dan
