Has anyone loaded for this round? Just in the process of acquiring one, and wanting to get some feedback. What powders worked well and did you end up using filler in the case?

I load 505 cal 535gr Barnes TSX in Jamison brass Fed 215 primers. OAL 3.840 Ave.Bull Vel.2381 fps.Shoots about 1.25MOA. out of my Montana .Bullets land dead on at 50 yds 1 in. high at 100yds. and3.5in. low at 200 yds. ................... hessels

Thanks for the info guys.

hessels: How did you find the recoil with that load? I have some Jamison brass on the way along with some 600gr Woodleigh SP. I also have some 525gr Barnes Banded Solids.

Recoil is one big push but nothing hurts.I had a Ruger no.1 in 416 Rigby that really wacked my cheekbone.I have a Sauer 90 in 458 Win. that wieghs over 10 lbs.that does not kick very much either but the trigger guard is too small so my trigger fingernail gets hit so after a few shots it gets prety sore.In my limited experience I like shooting this big bore the most...................hessels

Thanks a lot. Are you using any filler with this load? I have been thinking about what scope I will put on mine. Was thinking of a low powered Leupold. How do you find the Nikon? What rings/bases are you using?

127 gr. of IMR4831 pretty well fills the Jamison case so no filler is needed.I bought the Nikon scope because it is light and not very expensive and it seems to be holding zero. The Montana PH model comes with a grooved reciever that fit cz 550 rings after you modify the rear ring........................hessels
