50bmg is for whimps

Hmmm nice toy if you're in the States, there's a bunch of guys in Canada with PTRD's that look pretty nice in their gunrooms too.

---FAR easier to own up here, than down there. Up here, small is scary, down there, big is scary. Anything over 50 cal is a Destructive Device, has to federally registered, pay a $200 transfer tax when bought/sold, you have to be fingerprinted, and no new ones can be imported since 1968, although new ones can be built in the US. A PTRD sells for $1500 to $1800 here, down there, I have heard $10,000 !!!!!

You are right on the second point. Mine is looking nice, collecting dust for the 2 years I have had it.

Fair enough, but how fast do you think the state dept is going to get involved with regards to prohibiting exports of ammo and reloading supplies to Kanada?

Thats what the other ~190 countires are for!
If the US will not export stuff, then we get CanAm and others to sniff around elsewhere for ammo and guns.

Hey Terry,

Do you think it would conform to the saftey template at Cedar Springs? It would take a very brave butt marker to pull for that beast.

Bob
Bob,

We would have to put buoys out to the middle of the lake to define the overshoot area. Passing feighters take cover.

Bullet energy doesn't mean much but 38,700 Lbs/ft has got to be something serious!

20 mm (.787"??) and 1600 grains????!! I think I'm in love!
