What other press can use the Lee 50bmg dies.Their kit just jumped $60.
So I thought I would start looking for a used press and start out by feeding my pistols.

The Lee 50 BMG dies are 1 1/4-12* thread where most presses for pistols/standard rifles will use 7/8-14 threaded dies. You can get an adapter for the larger press to use the smaller, conventional dies, but not the other way around.

Quick google surf tells me RCBS/Hornady dies for BMG are 1 1/2-12 threads....

You have 50 BMG pistols?.....cool.....

Maybe clarify your question a little?

A little more sleep and it may have come out a little more clear.

Wanted to reload to save a little and may be get a press that could also load some consistent 50bmg loads.
I waited too long and the Lee kit just went up $60.Now if I could buy some other used press
that I could add the cheaper Lee 50bmg dies to later that that would be good too.

50bmg pistols!! No way....Because you know... the brake would look silly :)

If you think the lee press is too expensive than the ch4d rock crusher is gunna blow the wad. But for reloadingbig calibres you wont find any better. I reload 14.5x114mmR with it.

I'm on the fence... The Lee is the deal... But I want the RCBS...

Cheers
Jay

The RCBS or Hornady at least don't break as often. Kissing a press with your face while under full pressure of sizing truly sucks, even if the warranty is good on the press.

Where did the Lee 50BMG kit jump $60?

Higginson Powder is selling the Lee 50 BMG kit for $444

Cheers
Jay

About a Month back Budget shooter and X-Reload had the kit for $330.

X-Reload is now $395 and Budget shooter is out of stock.

Cabela's had just the cast press for $159 and now is $189.

And I do know there are crap, cheap, inexpensive and expensive tools.
It all depends on the job.

My skill level can not justify a nicer setup.

The 50bmg will be low volume and if I brake a cheaper press doing
pistol rounds I will just have to build my own.

$60 would have got me another set of dies or a dozen more 50 cal

That's the Canadian doller!
I buy 24ga brass hull to form into 577 and 577-450. The price went from $160 for 4 box's to $150 for 3 box's. Ya know what? Suck it up and move on.
If anything break's on the Classic Cast it'll be the toggle's. Oil them. If the arm bend's, your doing something wrong.
