50BMG with iron sites ...

Shot 11 rounds this morning at a couple softballs and a garbage pail with the irons ... I couldn't hit shizznat! HAHAHA. My buddy Chadd Burrill grazed the top of one of the softballs. Go back tomorrow with a scope on and more ammo & warmer clothing.

A soft ball doesn't allow for much error on the first time out, no plywood in that country? It looks like the front sight is about 2.5" above the center of the bore, so shooting a mite high at short range isn't a surprise. Man, its hard not to like the look of that thing!

I have/had a reddot someplace in the house and I believe I have a US optics 1x4 reddot I could dig out. I'm tryna consider which actual LONG range optic to purchase such as S&B or Nightforce & if I want with quick detach rings or solid rings??? Friends recently went outland and shot 5 umingmak/muskox and got me thinking about getting out again although it's -40 to -50 lately ... burrrr! :p

Hahaha just the thought of the BOOF! that thing must make has me giggling. Even better that its a PGW. You need a Tangent Theta scope for the Canadian factor, held on by some ATRS rings.

mikeyb I never heard of Tangent Theta scopes before and just googled and contacted them for more info as I like to support our CDN companies. Does ATRS have quick detach rings or no? I never did ask PGW if they made rings either. I definitely have to scope this beast soon. Thanks for the info as I just googled them. HAPPY NEW YR mikeyb,

Cheers and Happy new year! I only just discovered those scopes as well, they look fantastic and I believe are intended to compete with the very best. I want a Coyote and can't imagine putting anything else on top of it. I don't think ATRS rings are QD, but my next build will be getting them and one of their rails as well.

Hope we see that monster in the Hunting sub-forum real soon!

p.s. what would you scope this beast with folks? S&B or Nightforce or Tanget Theta?

I Reallllly hope you'll attach a secure line to the rifle, or a floatation jacket!! that would be a a nightmare to recover if that great piece of kit fell overboard.
Maybe i've dropped too many fishing reels in the water and just don't trust myself to hold anything anymore.

screen door on a submarine kind of crazy but if it floats your boat hey its up to you dude!!! Was going to add( with a pistol grip ) but that would be insane, though they do exist stateside. Then again if you got the bank roll go for it ( post pictures):ban:

When i first got my pgw lrt-3 i put buis on to try it since my scope wouldn't fit without a riser and i really wanted to fire it.... i went with a S&B PM2,,, i contemplated for a while but was really worth spending the extra, everytime i use it and like it more and more and am very glad i went with it,,. Go with the fine model, the regular crosshairs are too thick for my liking.

SPUHR is the only scope mount you should be looking at IMO
