50bmg

He isn't.. he is using best price..

I can't answer but they will all be 'expensive' though some makers are ATRS who is a good source for a variety of options between his own rifles and some factory makes.

I deduct from his question that he doesn't care what sort of quality or accuracy he gets, he just wants a 50, in which case there is no point trying to rationalize his choice.

Gentlemen;

I do believe that the helpful folks at Wolverine Supply (a site sponsor) will be happy to help you out.

I have been in there several times recently (they are only 4 miles from here) and they always seem to have some lovely, brand-new .50 or other on the counter, ready to go.

Give John or Ryan or Wolfgang a call... or check their CGN link from their forum.

There are not a great many choices as the US will not allow export of 50 rifles or components. Steyr is the most readily available with a stocking Canadian distributor. They seem to go around $5,000 and change.

I ordered a 50 from Rick, expecting it to arrive on Monday. Be prepared for sticker shock on anything that is associated with 50. Loaded rounds, reloading components, 250gns of powder per shot, $0.5 per primer, $4+ per bullet (match) .... Then you have to buy a new press, higher strength scope mounts, a scope that can withstand the recoil, etcetera, etcetera.

That said - without firing mine, I already have no regrets. I have not anticipated the arrival of a new gun this much in a very long time.
