Your observations are starting to match mine but with two different calibers. For about a year, I am finding I have been chasing fantasy groups by trying to seat close to the lands on both my .223 and 6.5CM while varying powder charge to get the best groups. Over the past month I have been backing off and seating 30 - 35 thou off instead of the 5-10 thou off the lands I had been using previously, and my groups have improved dramatically in the case of the 6.5 and somewhat with the .223. I regularly shoot 0.5 to 0.75MOA but upping the jump has put the 6.5CM into the 0.3-0.5MOA range and the .223 at around 0.5-0.6MOA consistently. Thanks for posting these results. I think I will try to continue to seat deeper/increase the jump and see what happens.
