Got new Hornady dies and am gonna start reloading for my '250. What length do I make these seat these bullets? I have calipers. If anyone could tell me what length to seat as measured from the primer to tip of the bullet.
I've reloaded before and just used a factory load to compare off of, just don't have one here to use.
Thanks, Rob.

Each rifle is different. You will have to establish your own OAL.

BTW ... I use those Hornadys in my 22/250 with 32gr 3031. It was a favourite load of Ken Waters and it has proven to be very accurate in mine as well.

yeah....As SC put it you need to find the OAL for your gun.

I need to seat close to or on the lands in Model 700 for best accuracy...I used a case with a cracked neck (you can make a relief cut if you dont' have a cracked neck) that allowed me to seat a bullet fairly loose but had enough tension to hold the bullet in its place......Seat the bullet way out then chamber it and then measure the result.....repeat a couple times to double check . Now that you have the measurement to the lands you can back off .005 or .0010 .

There are other ways to do this but this method helped me shave .5 MOA from my 100 M groups.

Have Fun.

Resize a case, don't prime it, seat a bullet in it to the depth you want and set it aside for future reference. I have a dummy round for all my rifles. Nosler shows 2.350 but different ogives will give you different depths.
