This trio of rare non-refurbed SKS45s arrived from Westrifle this week. All were in very nice condition. I'm really impressed with their new pinning method.

1st up needs no introduction. It's a late 1954 Izhevsk

Next up is a rare 1955 Tula. These have just shown up in the last import batch. It's from the "C" block of serial numbers,which from the look of things was the last ones before going to the Letter Series. Like the Letter Series,there is no Tula stamp or date on the stock.

Last is a Letter Series "K" in hardwood. Until the last batch,only original laminates had surfaced from the "K"s. Don't confuse these with the earlier "D" & "I" Letter Series which had many more hardwood ones.What's interesting is this stock is a one piece one.

Westrifle SKSes are something else.

The '56 "I" series I got from them is mint. One piece stock with extremely minimal handling marks and no "claw" scratches on the stock. Light crate marks, plus I really like the serial "BO1880"

I also have a late '55 CM which is just as nice, no visible crate marks, only one small "claw".

I had a "K" series with the original laminate, but I sold it because of the franken pin. So I will be looking for an other one in the next shipment.

And I am sitting on two '53 Izzy refurbs to satisfy my fix for now. One is a early low number with no forced matching, all original steel, and original hardwood hand guard. Only the stock seems to be replaced with a laminate piece with no Xs. The other is still on its way. It looks to have a full laminate replacement furniture no Xs as well.

The Izzy race is on.:runaway::

You didn't happen to buy this around mid December did you? With serial# something like 668 or 886 in it?

Small world if it was - I WANTED THAT ONE! lol

I bought a '53 Izzy a day or two before it and wasn't sure if I should buy another Christmas present for myself and return my gf's present! I guess I should thank you - if it was you.

**Note to anyone looking at Westrife SKS's -- If you find one you like, don't think about it or its gone!

Sweet rifles bud. Would love to have an Izzy SKS for my collection any year but must be non-refurb.So many "red rifles" out there but not supposed to buy a gun till at least September as per my New Year's resolution.Dont like to break a resolution but,also dont want to find in a few months that my chance at a decently priced Izzy is gone so....I've some thinking to do....
