57* Reminton shotshell primers

I had a supply of old SP cases for many years until I got frustrated at not being able to find the 57* primers and threw them out. Sorry - Bad timing I guess! I doubt that you'll have much luck utilizing your primers. Remington has not made this hull/primer combination for a great many years. The hulls were not that good for relading anyway - very thick case mouth and had the melt spot in the middle. You migh try selling / trading your primers at a gunshow. Good luck!

I have heard of guys using these primers in regular hulls, by placing scotch tape over the flash hole end of the primer and then inserting the primer into the hull. The tape serves two purposes, it causes the primer to fit into the hull and also covers the open flash hole of the primer, which is a good thing, when using modern powders.. Works with a single stage reloader, not so good with a progressiver loader..
