So I picked up a Martini Henry in 577/450 and decided to reload for it.
I have the fromed CBC 24 gauge brass and am now looking for some load's.
I don't want to get into using blackpowder, yet. I'm looking for reduced load's I can play with to get used to it.
LEE die's are on the way which are suppose to fit in my Lyman Orange crusher press.
I slugged the bore with this boolit I cast up. It's an unsized 459 330gr HP GC that I plan to paper patch. but looking at the rifling mark's, I wonder just how big to patch up to.
Thought's and comment's?

Lee Martini Henry dies are 1 1/4X12 tpi my orange crusher will only take 7/8x 14 tpi dies. You need something like a Lee classic cast for a press. Woodchopper is the person to ask for a smokeless load. Condition of your rifle is a major factor on what is appropriate. Load info for a good solid Enfield would probably hand-grenade a Francotte.

Older orange crusher, you are good to go. Make sure you anneal your brass . Swaging the magtech brass down to size will work harden them. I only load Black in mine but I know Woodchopper loads smokeless with a TP wad.

I bought 50 off a guy in the state's, already formed and ready to go.
I went this way because there's no telling how many I'd loose to the forming process, this way I bought 50 and don't loose any.And I couldn't easily find the 24 gauge hull's this side of the border.

Buffalo arms in Idaho is where I buy most of my brass shot shells from. Easy to deal with and always a good stock of black powder supplies. They also have a great on-line reference chart of shell holders and have most in stock.

Magtech makes 24 ga brass, and you can get it from Will Bilozir (just google it).
