Anyone know if there's a market for these?
I know about the NDFS brass but haven't found any so I've been playing at making them out of the Magtech hull's.

Do you know where they have some of the Magtech hulls in stock? I have been trying to find some for my 577 Snider.

Buffalo Arms illegally shipping here? Just curious. Components require the daft export permit. U.S. government doesn't want the Taliban reloading.
24 gauge rim is too small. .577-450's rim diameter is .760". 24 gauge is .725".

Apparently brass shotshells are ITAR exempt. They won't ship other sorts of brass at Buffalo Arms, but specifically note the magtechs are A-OK.

I know it doesn't help the OP, but there was a saskatchewan dealer (or possibly from Alberta) at the Brandon gun show last weekend who had piles of the stuff. $40/box.

I've made 577-450 from them last winter and it's not hard to do once you develop a knack. Trim, anneal the top 1/4 inch of the case, not letting the heat go down past where the neck will be, lube evenly, turn the die down 1/2 turn at a time, re-spreading the lube each step, to avoid wrinkles (wrinkles and tiny lube dents are death when forming this case). When you begin setting the shoulder to roughly 1/4" from its final position and the press becomes harder to operate NOW anneal the shoulder area and continue.

It's my theory that you do not want the ENTIRE worked area of the case to be soft, but you want it to be progressively harder from the mouth down so as not to collapse the case - especially when you begin forming the neck and shoulder.

I did about 80, and only ruined 2 (lube dents).

I also ran mine into a snider die first, but this works the brass so little that I'm not sure if it's necessary.

Zuke,
You may get some help over at http://britishmilitariaforums.yuku.com/ as they have a good few Canadian members with Martini Henrys and Sniders. There is a regular on there (PommyB) who makes and sells 577/450 cases from Magtech's and they are pretty cheap too. Whether he ships to Canada, I dont know, but he may be able to help you out. Good luck.

Doug has been fantastic for hard to get brass etc.

yes he ships to canada i bought some .577 snider off him at $45.00 for a box of 25 plus the shipping.

I picked up several box's of 24 gauge brass to convert them to 577-450. I have extra's that I have done up that I don't need and thought I'd try selling them here to recover some of my cost's but I'm not sure what to ask for them
