577 brass identity?

HI Guys and gals
I shoot and reload my Snider brass. Made from the 24g shot shells. No problem.
I got a bunch of old brass from a gun show and a few of the cases are older heavier brass. They are just over 1 1/2" long and marked BELL 577BASE NE.
They are a bit too snug for my rifle and can't seem to size them. And yes, I do anneal them.
Any thoughts as to what these are?

Very cool. Thanks for that. I didn't think it was for a Snider but I did manage to size the few I have. I had to anneal right down to the base and then it would go into my die. I have shot a couple of like short ones and had no trouble.
