.577 snider enfield firing pin question

Need to know some stuff about the .577 snider enfield firing pin setup

-Is the firing pin inertia driven?

If not,

-How far out should the firing pin stick out of the breech base with the hammer fully pushed down onto the rear of the firing pin assembly?

I put an empty 9mm casing inside the breach and had it balanced against the breech base when I shut it. Holding the rifle upright and fully cocking the hammer and releasing it send the empty 9mm casing up about 10-15cm up the barrel.

Obviously, the pin is good

If anyone has any advice they want to share that contradicts or confirms that I have a good firing pin, let me know ;D

If you mean the firing pin is driven forward by the hammer, yes.
With the hammer down, the firing pin is flush with the "nipple"
Also the pin is spring loaded to pop up with the hammer out of the way. If it doesn't do that, you might want to try a spring from a ball point pen.
