590 14inch barrel question

Can I put a 18inch 590a1 barrel on my mossy which came with the 14inch barrel?

Don't think so because the 590's barrel is secured via the mag tube, the 14 inch gun is too short. If it was a 500 it would be different.

Is it possible to make an extension or an adaptor that will allow a longer barrel on a 14" version ? Maybe if there is enough interest we can have a machinist make a few extension to allow for longer barrels?

Easier to buy the proper length mag tube for about $35 and just switch them out. The mag tube just unscrews. Everything else should work fine.

I think you'll need a longer mag tube spring as well to get it to work right.

Mossberg 500 barrels will work too.

But (again) you will need to get the correct mag-tube to go with it.
