.590 bolt face question.

This will likely bring some negative feed back but???

The .590 bolt face would work, once the cartridge was chambered.

It may not extract the fired case because the extractor may be .025 in short.

The other issue, is that the feed rails may not be the appropriate shape to feed the case into the chamber, from the mag well.

You might get away with feeding from a detachable magazine.

The other issue is that Remingtons have rebated bolt faces.

This used to be advertised as a ''safety'' feature, to protect the shooter when a case separates or kabooms.

Might be worth looking into an extractor with the proper length?? .025 isn't much and all may go well.

I haven't had a lot to do with the WSM or SAUM cases but Remington 700 actions are very forgiving.

I saw one at a Cranbrook gun show a few years ago that used a standard .485 bolt face, for the 308Win converted to 224 Weatherby Mag.

Nothing was changed, other than the extractor.

The fellow who was selling it, proved it fed well with a couple of snap caps.
