Hey guys, so here's the story:

I want to make a 14" 590A1 retrograde. My concern is: will the regular retrograde forend wood fit on a 14" 590 without any issues? Looking at photos the 14" forend looks quite a bit shorter than the regular retrograde wood.

I'd like to be certain before I dump money on two guns only to find out I won't be able to do what I plan.
I doubt anyone will be selling their retrograde furniture, so that leaves buying either the lower priced 500 or 590 for it and then swapping furniture and then trying to sell it.

The 14" barrels use a shorter 6 ¾" pump sleeve versus the regular 7 ¾".

That said, it's wood. You can easily counter-bore the ends to fit a shorter pump deeper (I did for my Surefire pump).

Start with a 590 Shockwave?

As above, the 590 Nightstick is a Shockwave with wood furniture. SFRC has one.

You can not put a forend from a 20” or 18.5” onto a 14” without modifying (shortening) the forend.

Thanks for the replies guys, I found a stock set from a shockwave with the wood corncob front end that will fit, Not just need to find a good shape rear wood stock and I'll be off to the races.
