590A1 barrel fit problem?

You mean the barrel is loose in the receiver? If so no. In fact I don't think there should be any play at all. I would strip that thing down and give it a good cleaning and put it back together. See if that solves the problem.
If that doesn't work then I would take it to where you bought it and see if there is anything they can do for you.

Loosen the mag cap slightly, raise the shotgun 8-10 inches from the floor with the butt down to floor. Hold the shotgun by the closed action pump handle and smack it onto the floor. This should coax it into place. Then tighten the mag cap like hell. I have had two recently that were a little tight going into the receiver but a firm drop/smack did the job.

When I say slight play I mean very very little movement maybe less than 1/64.

I just found what's going wrong, the magazine spring retainer was not flush with the magazine tube end, easy fix!!!!!!
