590A1 follower issues

Having issues with my beloved Mossberg 590a1 8 rounder. The follower is getting stuck at random intervals when feeding a round or simply when pushing it down with a cleaning rod. I am looking for a new follower and mag spring any recommended available in Canada or will I need brownells?

It's super easy. Measure 6" or so past the end of the mag and cut.

I'm running the Vang Comp stainless steel follower in mine and it's been awesome

Have you tried cleaning the mag tube , I was having the same issue with a older 590 , gave the mag tube a quick wipe and it fix the issue , just saying.

My orig 590 follower looked like a piece of cheap pressed sheet steel with sharp edges that looked prone to getting hung up. I replaced it with a stainless one and never had a feeding issue.

clean inside of mag tube, get an S&J follower & spring you'll be sorted. Unless you have a sizeable enough dent in mag tube to bind up the follower which you probably would have noticed already.

I plumbed the mag tube before tossing in a Vang Comp follower and the original mag spring. No issues since.

I use S&J followers in my 590's. The Mossberg factory springs are rubbish actually, really soft. I put Wolff extra power springs in mine, I cut them about 12" long. I didn't measure if I lose 1 shell capacity with the longer spring, as I'd rather have the added force/reliability.

I have the GG&G follower and a standard mag spring. runs like a champ.
