Just wondering if anyone on here has installed a MOSSBERG heat shield on a 590A1 with ghost rings? any advice? Online info is all over the page.(can,t be done,can,t be done without modding shield,slips on with minor trouble) Search function resulted in well...........
Now i already know i don,t NEED a heatshield i just want one. Cheers
 
Im not a fan of heat shields put one for the first time on my 2nd moss 500a pur. I tightned it very well. After 250 bird and 50 slug 50 buck it was VERY sloppy lose. Ended up eating in to my foreend a bit.

^I agree not worth in my opinion. Im sure some people love them though.
 
I don't know a lot about Mossbergs, but maybe look at Aimpro Tactical's heatshields?
 
Aimpro tactical is the way to go for sure. Install is not easy to do without scratching the barrel but it can be done!

I've put at least 1k rounds down the pipe of my 590A1 and no issues with it coming loose.

And there are way to install it without scratching the barrel.

As for not needing one, I've burned myself on the heavy barrel a few times.
 
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all who posted replies.Sounds like what i thought, slight pain in the ass/can be done.
I,ll let you know how it turns out when i get my barrel back.(barrel lug, bayonet lug not mounted parrallel. warranty.)
If you have,nt spent an afternoon shootin skeet with a 590 you probably did,nt burn yourself.
